Tropical America
The Tropical America Building houses Rhode Island’s only “rainforest,” featuring a canopy sky-walk and lush atmosphere.
Come face to face with free-roaming monkeys (cotton-top tamarins) and encounter golden lion tamarins, white-faced saki monkeys, an anaconda, two-toed sloth, prehensile-tailed porcupine, bats and more. Outside, enjoy flamingoes and one of nature’s most unusual creatures, the giant anteater.
Australasia
Discover the land down under and beyond with an exhibit featuring the unique wildlife and culture of New Guinea, Indonesia and Australia.
In this unique corner of the world you’ll find kangaroos straight from the outback – and even some smaller ones that live in trees. See what a side-necked turtle looks like, come eye to eye with an emu, listen to the laughing kookabura, observe some gregarious gibbons, meet another of the kangaroo’s cousins, the wallaby, and much more.
Marco Polo Trail
The Marco Polo Trail is a multifaceted exhibit where visitors can follow the path of explorer Marco Polo, and see some of the amazing animals that can be found along way.
To start your journey, experience the culture and history of the era inside a recreated Venetian plaza. Then, check out a Bedouin tent and venture inside the hull of a 16th century trading vessel. Once your "travels" are complete, you'll see Dromedary camels, highly endangered moon bears and red pandas, and captivating snow leopards.
