The Galapagos Islands offer a dramatic geological history and one of the world’s most remarkable collections of plant and animal life. Your journey will begin in Ecuador with an exploration of the Andes Mountains and a visit to the Equatorial Line Monument and Museum where you will cross from one hemisphere from another before embarking on a 5-day Galapagos cruise. During your voyage, local naturalists will provide insight into the wildlife and history during onboard lectures and guided nature walks through this unique chain of islands. Learn about the Galapagos sea birds, including the blue-footed booby and the Galapagos penguin, snorkel with white-tipped sharks and sea turtles, catch glimpses of marine iguanas, sea lions, giant tortoises, flamingos and more!

Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, NH - Daytrip (ages 5 - adult) Saturday, October 2, 2010 Registration ends September 21; no refunds after that date.
Back for a second year due to a great experience in 2009, travel with us to Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, a newly accredited AZA center, in beautiful Holderness, New Hampshire during peak leaf peeping season. We’ll enjoy a 90-minute narrated pontoon boat ride along the property’s lakes, stroll through Kirkwood Gardens and view the center’s collection of native wildlife along an interactive exhibit trail that includes a children’s play area. There are even hiking trails for those of us who might be feeling a little more adventurous!

Sunset is a magical time at the zoo – the air is quiet and the animals are awake and alert. Sunset Safaris provide families with an opportunity to experience the zoo together in a light like no other with no crowds and an interpretive guide. All Sunset Safaris will include a themed tour at twilight, snack and story time. (Children must be accompanied by an adult).

Fall, 2010 - Boo at the Zoo Family Overnight! Looking for a family Halloween experience complete with jack-o-lanterns, flashlights and goose bumps? Creepy crawly creatures like bats, spiders, snakes and wolves have been the stuff of scary movies and legends for as long as we can remember. Get the skinny from Zoo staff as they bust the myths about misunderstood animals and the very important role they play in the world. Goose bumps all gone? Good.
